Growth has been a constant factor since the Company's founding and one of the challenges has always been to support it effectively. The ways we have accomplished that support are reflective of who we are. We are a dynamic group. We support change. We think outside the box. We are a company of opportunity. Joyce Converse joined Ross-Wilson in 1980 as a part-time bookkeeper. In 1988, she became CFO. Scott Miley joined the Company in 1997 as an assistant superintendent. He is now Vice President of Operations. There are many other examples of what happens in this company when people exhibit competence and talent and are, themselves, growth-oriented. Personal growth serves the development of the professional position. And so the organization develops.
Our style is characterized by flexibility and a creative response to issues and situations within the overall context of accountability to the job in particular and to the Company as a whole. Our employees are our greatest asset. We expect integrity, intelligence, competence, hard work, honesty, respect and common sense from our people in all professional relationships inside and outside the Company. We also expect teamwork. Ours is a unique approach, born of necessity in managing very large jobs. No one person can see or handle all that needs to be seen and handled. Responsibility is divided. Communication is an absolute. Each person is accountable to the team for his area of responsibility.
Our mission as a company of competent people is to maintain and demonstrate all these qualities while divided into cohesive teams. Every team has its specific goal: to manifest housing of exceptional quality in the service of our clients. We love to see these buildings emerge out of the dust. We love what we do.
